Texas BBQ

We went up north to visit a town called Cedar Creek for some reason. But there wasn’t anything to visit. Thanks to Gil, we drove further to Georgetown – a lovely old town as you might have expected.

While we had some coffee, our children toured trough the local stores and after a short drive to a little town named Round Rock, we stepped into the local candy shop. There was a rack full of Root Beer! I really liked it. Our 17+ year old kids, ended up playing a very intense game of giant Jenga. Teenagers, am I right? After a very short walk on the way too hot surface of the town, we finally came to a rest at The Brass Tab.

I’ve never seen so many different tabs before!

We had some beer, of course.

Once we got back to Austin, we went the the best BBQ place in town. Terry Black’s BBQ. We had to wait in line for about 40 minutes, but every minute was worth it. And on the upside, we had plenty of time to get an impression of the smokers.

Brisket

That’s what we had. Believe me, it was a real treat. You won’t eat anything else. And I don’t think that I would eat brisket at any other place.

Unfortunately this was the last evening we spent together with Gil, Lauren and Julia.

Hey guys, I can only say „Thank you!“ a thousand times …

We really had a great time!
