After hundreds of miles we left our meanwhile beloved I10 to go north. We’ve been driving on the I10 since El Paso – with some exceptions of course.
So heading north one of the funniest buildings we saw was a Kwik-Mart. We had to stop for some coffee. Unfortunately they didn’t have donuts.
Our next stop was Montgomery to visit the capitol. They all nearly look the same. It was closed due to it being Sunday, so we took a walked through empty streets to the Civil Rights Memorial Center (closed as well) which is placed near the King Memorial Baptist Church. There was service so we couldn’t go in.
Going on to Birmingham we had a lazy afternoon – having some food, watching the U19 EM final, tasting some beer at the brewery, listening to the music and the horn of bypassing trains, reading a book … ‚till it was time for dinner.
Thanks to Rick and Elizabeth for the beautiful evening we spent together having dinner!
